It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herbert (Herb) Metry Pike announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale, NL on July 8, 2020 at the age of 97. Herb was a member of the St. Luke's Anglican Church, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #40, and Lions Club. Herb retired from American Smelting and Refining Company. He is predeceased by his wife, Doris, and son, Allan. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son, Earle (Margie) of Wolfville, NS, and daughter, Ann (Hardy) of Springdale, NL. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters, Norma Smith of Texas and Geraldine Purchase of Buchans, grandchildren, Dennis Pike (Colleen), Jason Sparkes (Jennifer), Stephen Sparkes (Shawna), Earon Pike (Maria), Deidre Pike (Johnny), Benjy Pike, and Justin Pike, great-grandchildren, Joey Sparkes, Olivia Sparkes, Sarah Sparkes, Cassie Sparkes, Amelia Baker, Charlie Baker, Dakota Pike, Kathleen Pike, Christopher Pike, CJ Niles, and Malik Niles. Rev. Madonna Boone will conduct a private family funeral service at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Sparkes (grandson), Stephen Sparkes (grandson), Joey Sparkes (great-grandson), Johnny Baker (husband of granddaughter, Deidre), Baxter Evans, and Nadine Evans. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Julia Caines of Central Funeral Homes.
