Obituary for Jeannette Evelyn Wiseman (Locke)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Jeannette Wiseman announces her passing into the loving arms of our dear Lord on May 30, 2021, at Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale NL.
Born in Little Bay Islands on January 15, 1926 she was the daughter of Lemuel and Rowena Locke. On May 19, 1947 she married Garland Wiseman and together they raised 4 children. Jeannette leaves precious memories with her four children, Lloyd (Shirley); Jim (Sharon); Lynn(Maurice Anthony); and Glen (Linda); seven beloved grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren who loved and will miss her dearly, 2 sisters Ruth Parsons and Norma Penny and one brother Walter (Edna) Locke and a large circle of relatives and friends. Jeannette loved her church and all that was involved in the church. She really loved Home League, Bible study and the church camps. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, playing cards, gardening and was a wonderful cook.
She was predeceased by her husband Garland, her parents, two brothers Fred and Roy Locke and two sisters Violet Oxford and Barbara Locke.
The family would like to thank and be forever grateful to very dear friends Rose (Kevin)Saunders, Major Lacey and our dear cousin Ruth Roberts for all your special care of our precious mother during this difficult time. Your kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. We would also like to thank the staff at Valley Vista for the care of our mom.
There will be a small memorial service and graveside committal service for family only which has been delayed due to Covid restrictions. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Central Funeral Homes Ltd. www.centralfuneralhomes.ca.
