Obituary for Joseph Donald Downton
JOSEPH DONALD DOWNTON
1930 - 2021
It is with a heavy heart we share that Joseph Donald Downton, aged 90, passed away surrounded by love at the Carmelite House, Palliative Care Unit on March 17th, 2021. His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and loved ones were present both in person and virtually in his last hours of life.
Leaving to celebrate his life with love and cherished memories, his wife of 69 years Pat, children Don, Peg, Marilyn (Rog), Pam (Paul), Lisa (Doug), Rod, and Larry (Arlene). Fifteen grandchildren, Andrea, Matthew, Karla, Denise, Roger, Jason, Janette, Andrew, Bradley, Megan, Ashley, Renita, Stephanie, Christopher, and Davida. Eleven great-grandchildren, Faith, Danica, Claire, Mikhaela, Kolter, Cassandra, Josée, Colin, Madeline, Meredith, and Olivia. As well as other relatives and many dear and caring friends and neighbours.
Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiidoing, spending time at his cabin, watching the weather channel remote in hand, brewing his own beer, collecting calendars, teasing his Smurfs, but most importantly he cherished a full house.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life service will occur at a later date.
Special thanks to his caregivers for their assistance during this difficult time.
