Obituary for Kay Rowsell

EDITH CLARA (KAY) ROWSELL
1951 - 2021

The family of the late Edith Clara (Kay) Rowsell wish to announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on May 29, 2021 at the age of 70 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Gord and Gert Rowsell. Left to mourn are her sisters, Barbara (Bart) Walsh and Rosalind (Bill) Higgins of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn are her aunts and uncles, Don (June) Rowsell, Edith Randell, and Si (Jackie) Thompson of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Linda (Kev) McGrath of St. John’s; nieces, Kim (Marcel & Claire) Montrose and Jennifer (Derick) Bishop; and a large circle of family and friends.

After studying to become a lab technician, Kay moved to the Springdale Health Care Centre where she made numerous friends in the Springdale area and after 37 years of service, she retired and moved back to Grand Falls-Windsor. Although burdened with health issues for much of her life, it didn’t curtail or slow down her strong will to achieve whatever she desired.

A special thanks go to the medical team at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor for their care and kindness to Kay and her family.

Many thanks to Dr. Robert Butler for his diligence and compassion to Kay.

As per Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial United Church or Exploits Valley SPCA. Arrangements were entrusted to Julia Caines of Central Funeral Homes.
