Bill played defense for the Buchans Miners Hockey Team. He was part of two Herder Memorial Trophies winning teams (1954 & 1963). He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Each season would bring a new game to hunt or berry to pick. He had many hunting camps he built himself that he would go to depending on the season. He was a man among men and loved by his family and the people of the community he called home. Dad gave so much to so many in his life and never once expected anything in return. He worked with ASARCO for 40+ years in the Machine Shop. He volunteered with the Search and Rescue and the Fire Department and is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Special thanks to the A.M Guy Memorial Hospital Staff for looking after and caring for Dad for the last two years. Dad was a great resident at the home and was loved and respected by all who worked with him and he in return loved and respected them.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Buchans United Church or the Heart and Stroke.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ryan Peddle of Central Funeral Homes.
