Obituary for Louise Maxine Beresford (Ellis)

LOUISE MAXINE BERESFORD
1942 - 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Louise Maxine Beresford announce her peaceful passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, surrounded by her loving family, on August 21, 2022 at the age of 80 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Catholic Womens League. Louise is predeceased by her parents Elim and Lavina Ellis of Bishop’s Falls, NL; in-laws Michael and Blanche Beresford; brothers Ted, Harvey, Gordon, Roland, Ronald, Jack and Ern; and sisters Pearl, Eileen, Ruth, and Cavelle. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Desmond Beresford; sons Gerald (Trudy) of Goose Bay, NL and Steve (Kimmy) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; and daughters Mondella (Rod Winsor) and Pauline (Stu Dyke) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Travis Walsh, Wayne Beresford (Brittany), Corey Beresford, Tyler Beresford, and Nick Winsor; special great-grandbabies Callie and Grayson; brother, Cliff; brother-in-law Den Healey; sister, Aggie; sisters-in-law Jackie Beresford, Irene Ellis, Ruby Ellis, and Agnes Beresford-White (Don); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers are her son Gerald Beresford; sons-in-law Stu Dyke and Rod Winsor; and grandsons Travis Walsh, Nick Winsor, and Tyler Beresford. Honorary pallbearer is her son Steve Beresford. The Beresford family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Carmelite House for the care given to Louise over the last 4 years, and a special thank you to the Palliative Care nurses who cared for Louise during her final days. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear and Mondella Winsor of Central Funeral Homes.
