Obituary for Mary Catherine Devine
Today we say goodbye to our dear sister, Mary Catherine Devine. Mary passed away from the scourge of Alzhiemer's Disease on January 13, 2023. She is predeceased by our parents Nellie and Patrick Devine, and our brother Michael Devine. She leaves to mourn sister, Patricia Devine, brothers Danny (Nancy) and Cyril; as well as nieces Kimberly (Ned) and Danielle. She also leaves her much beloved little dog, Paka, which has been adopted by a loving family.
Mary spent her career life working at Robinson Blackmore Printing Company which produced the Grand Falls Advertiser for many decades. She spent 35 years working in this capacity.
Mary always loved writing and in her retirement years worked at writing a book. She also wrote many children's stories which she read to groups of children at the local library.
As well, Mary was very physically active, walking and working out at the YMCA. It was her daily ritual and she loved all the people she met, sometimes joining them for coffee at Tim Hortons. She also taught Tai Chi and took part in Tai Kwan Do lessons.
