Obituary for Mary Ellen Lindahl (Little)

MARY ELLEN LINDAHL
1929 - 2021

It is with great sadness the family of the late Mary Ellen (Little) Lindahl announce her passing in Grand Falls - Windsor surrounded by her family on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at the age of 92 years.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years Gordon, son Mitchell, second husband William Hatt, step-daughter Linda, and sisters Evelyn and Olive.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons Denis of St. John's NL, and Gerald (Mag) of Halifax, NS, daughters Patricia of Halifax, NS, Signe (Dave) James of Grand Falls - Windsor, NL, Lillian (Brian) Bennett of Halifax, NS, and Jean (Roger) Down of Corner Brook, NL, daughter-in-law Lillian of Grand Falls - Windsor, NL, sister Bernice (Carl) Kaiser of NS, sisters-in-law Theresa (Dave) Furlong and Mary (John) Stacey, and brother-in-law Carl Lindahl. Also leaving to mourn are 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren as well as numerous family and friends, especially Mavis Woodman at Kingsway Retirement Home, Janette Powell, and her other card buddies who will miss her dearly.

Mary was born in Middle Armherst Cove, Bonavista Bay, and moved to Grand Falls where she met and married Gordon and raised seven devoted children.

Mary spent many years as an active participant in the 50+ Seniors Club, member of C.W.L, an Eucharist minister, Sacaristan, and volunteered 25 years with Girl Guides and other various groups in town. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and playing cards with her friends of many years.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the food bank or charity of ones choice.

Interment to follow at the RC Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
