August 1, 1936 - February 19, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mildred Joan Steeves (nee Brinson) announce her passing in Corner Brook on February 19, 2022 at the age of 85.
Mildred was born and raised in Victoria Cove, NL. After spending a few years teaching in various communities she settled in Grand Falls-Windsor, where she met and married Stephen Steeves, her husband of 59 years, raised three children, and made many dear friends. Some things Mildred will be remembered for are her humorous quick wit, lively card games, painting talent, beautiful flower garden, and her devoted love of her family.
Left with fond and loving memories are her children Tony (Debby), Glenn (Cathy), Darlene (Keith); grandchildren Andrew, Kyle, Bradley, Brandy, Travis, Eric and David; great grandchildren Chelsea, Darcy, Adrian, and Eli; brother Francis; sisters-in-law Joan and Emily; many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband Stephen, parents Frederick and Drusilla Brinson, brothers Eric and Morley, sisters Joyce, Evelyn, Violet, and Gertie.
Visitation will take place at Central Funeral Home, Union Street, Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday, February 24, from 7-9 p.m. Rev. Robin Trevors will conduct the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church at 11:00 a.m.
on Friday, February 25. The funeral service will be livestreamed from Central Funeral Homes Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CentralFuneralHomes
