Obituary for Neville Chesley Andrew Thomas

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Neville Chesley Andrew Thomas announce his passing at the age of 68. Neville was born in Southbrook and raised in Springdale. He worked for over 15 years at Hewlett’s in Springdale and moved up to the Mainland where he worked for over 10 years. Neville always enjoyed listening to Rock n Roll, playing guitar and spending time with family. Neville was often known as “Nev” by many friends and family and enjoyed being outdoors and could be found at the trailer on the river salmon fishing in the summer months. He was known for his love to bake and cook new things. He enjoyed trying new recipes and loved having a good feed and had no problem calling his sister Sharron all hours of the day for a recipe. We always teased him that he thought Sharron went around with a recipe in her pocket.
Neville always looked forward to birthdays and holidays to celebrate with family. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and loved the children in his life. He always made sure to remember birthdays and holidays and was known to always send a card in the mail and looked forward to see the joy on their faces when they opened it. But the one thing that he loved the most, and gave him pure joy was riding on his Harley. Neville participated in the Ride for Sight Benefit and rode bike across the island in honor of those without sight. He learned to ride on his motorcycle at a young age and looked forward to the warmer seasons so that he could go for long rides on his bike. He was known for the phrase “Born to Ride” and enjoyed every minute of living the Harley Davidson lifestyle.
Neville is predeceased by his parents Garland and Yvonne Thomas and his oldest sister Justina Anstey. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brother Jimmie, and sisters Sharron, Sue and Naida. Also left to mourn are many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Until we meet again.. Like you always said “I Rode a Harley and I will Rest in Peace”
Upon request there will be no funeral service. Neville chose the process of Aquamation and a graveside service for family and friends will occur at a later date.
Special thanks to the Staff at Kingsway Living in Springdale who took beautiful care of Neville in the last 3 months of his life.
