Obituary for Peter Leonard Bartle

Peter Leonard Bartle
March 25, 1942 – February 13,2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peter Leonard Bartle announce his passing at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 13 at the age of 79. Peter retired in 1997 as a Sales Manager for Charles R. Bell.
He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Elsie Bartle, parents in law Wallace and Alice Woolfrey, brother-in-law John Woolfrey and sister-in-law Elizabeth Bartle.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Lois Bartle; daughters Marion Watkinson (George) of Burlington, ON, Susan Collins (Chris) of Hammonds Plains, NS, and Jane Ball (Steve) of Hammonds Plains, NS.
Also leaving to mourn are brother Frank Bartle, sister-in-law Shannon Woolfrey, grandchildren George Jr. and Carly Watkinson, Mark and Sarah Collins, Matthew and Katherine Ball and great granddaughter Charlie Olivieri.

Peter was a passionate man whose main priority was his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Lois, in 1963 and they spent 62 wonderful years together. Family life with their three daughters, Marion, Sue, and Jane, included countless memories of quality time spent snowmobiling, skating, skiing, going on weekend drives and enjoying many years at the cabin on Badger Lake. He started a fulfilling retirement in 1997, enjoying many of his hobbies, including: golf, curling, snowmobiling, and spending time with friends (old and new). He also discovered his love for woodworking and creating fine furniture. As many friends and family can attest, he was very talented. Many of his one-of-a-kind furniture pieces can be found in the homes of family and friends throughout Canada. His morning gathering for coffee at McDonald’s with “the boys” was a highlight of his days, finished off with his walks around town.

Dad (Pop) was a very moral man and an amazing role model for his children and grandchildren. His unwavering values of honesty, loyalty, and commitment will forever have an impact on our lives. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

We are all very thankful to the Doctors and Nurses of the Grand Falls-Windsor Central Health Hospital, and Cancer Clinic, for providing exceptional care and comfort. A special Thank you to Dr. Carson Marcoux, Dr. Richard Lush, Dr. Mark Powell, Dr. Amy House, and Nurse Ruth Wells.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Peter can be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice GFW. https://lionelkellandhospice.ca/donations/
