It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Hubert Best announces his passing at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 18, 2022 at the age of 74.

Raymond was born on August 13th, 1947 in St. John’s, NL. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret Best of St. John’s as well as his parents-in-law, Steadman and Julia Goosney of Glenburnie, NL.

Leaving with fond memories is his wife, Norma. Raymond and Norma were married on July 6, 1968 and they had 4 children together. Left to mourn as well are sons; Darrin (Loriann) of Guelph, ON, Chad (Patty) of Springdale, NL, Brad (Angie) of Badger, NL and daughter, Donna of Rattling Brook, NL.

He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Steven, Morgan, Adam and Nevaeh. Raymond had one sister, Georgie (Larry) and their children Leeann, Lori, Ian and their families.

Raymond was a school teacher for 30 years at Valmont Academy, King’s Point. He then went on to sell life insurance for a few years before he fully retired to spend time with his family.

He enjoyed going out in his boat and canoe and going on skidoo rides.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date.

Raymond will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
