Obituary for Reginald Samuel Hynes
Reginald Samuel Hynes at the age of 91 years passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Reginald is predeceased by his parents, George and Gertrude Hynes, and brothers, Raymond, Richard, and Harvey.
Reginald was born on December 23, 1930, at Indian Islands to George and Gertrude Hynes. He came to Change Islands in September 1954. He served as Post Master, Telegraph Operator for 35 years until his retirement.
On September 2, 1957, he married Winnifred Porter. From this union they were blessed with a son Neil.
He leaves to mourn with loving memories his wife Winnifred of 65 years, his son Neil and wife Carrie, two grandchildren, Julia and Claire whom he loved dearly.
Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Reginald was a man of few words. He always enjoyed a good laugh, dancing, music, and friends. He will always be remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends.
