Obituary for Reuben Stanley Hollett

Reuben Stanley Hollett
October 22, 1956 - October 16, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Reuben Stanley Hollett, age 65, announce his passing at Green Bay Health Centre, Springdale, NL., on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was surrounded by those who loved him most - his own crowd.

Reuben was born in Springdale, to Warrick and Lillian Hollett, on October 22, 1956. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline, in 1979 and together they had two children, Jennifer and Jeffery. Reuben worked as a mechanic for nearly 40 years until an accident forced his retirement at the age of 59. He was always a very quiet man, a man of few words, however, those words were always wise. He was a hard worker and extremely proud of everything he had around him. He didn’t like to ask for help but would be the first to lend a hand when needed.

Reuben was most proud of his children and his four grandkids, Lucas, Jonathon, Lucy and Grady. Together with his loving wife and in-laws, Paul and Natasha, they made up “his own crowd” and they were all he ever wanted.

Reuben was predeceased by his parents, Warrick and Lillian Hollett, his sister, Geneva Chatman, his parents-in-law, Ralph and Lottie Winsor, and his brothers-in-law, Gilbert Winsor, Jack Winsor, Edgar Chatman, and Everett Anstey.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Jacqueline, daughter; Jennifer (Paul), son; Jeffery (Natasha), grandkids; Lucas, Jonathon, Lucy and Grady. Brothers; Carl (Lena), Ernest (Justina), and Melvin (Rennie). Sisters; Edna and Betty (Leo), as well as a large circle of extended family.
