ROBERT MONROE DOWN
1938 - 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Monroe Down announce his passing at the Carmelite House Palliative Care Unit in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on June 26, 2021 at the age of 83. Robert was a retired member of the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Department and the Memorial United Church. Robert retired from the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. He is predeceased by his grandson, Johnny Down (Stephen); parents, Cyril (Sue) and Virginia; brothers, Ray, John, Bill, Sue, and Paul; and sister, Edna. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Shirley Down; sons, Stephen (Patti – deceased) of Prince George, BC, Allan (Ann-Marie) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Gregory (Tracey) of Mount Uniacke, NS; and daughter, Michelle Goodyear (David) of Bridgewater, NS. Also leaving to mourn are his sister, Sylvia Mesh; grandchildren, Karl, Denika, Brandy, Amber, Beth, James, Kelly, Keegan, and Satara; and great-grandchildren, Annika, Alexandra, Jonah, Cole, Ava, Blake, Michael, James, and Pyper. Rev. Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service from the Memorial United Church in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery. Urn bearers are Keegan and Satara Down. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
