Obituary for Robert Terrance MacKenzie

ROBERT MACKENZIE
1966 - 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert (Rob) MacKenzie announce his passing
at the Central Newfoundland Hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor on August 12, 2021. At the age of 55,
Rob was a member of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment B-Company for 22 years, retiring as a
Sergeant in 2005. Rob retired from Nortrac as a John Deere certified heavy duty mechanic after three
decades of service. Most recently, he worked with Crane-Tec Services Inc. Despite his long work
history, Rob remained, above all, a loving husband, father, and friend.

Predeceased by his father, Vince Mackenzie senior, and father-in-law, Edmund Duder. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 31 years, Melanie (nee Duder), and his
children, Bradley (partner Brittany) of St. John's, NL; Katie (partner Duncan) of Cole Harbour, NS; and
Robert Jr. of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn his mother, Myrtle Mackenzie, his
brother, Vince (partner Kim Waite), his niece, Chelsea (partner Lays Bagagi) grandson, Duncan Jr., and
a large circle of friends, many of whom held him as dear as family.

Reverend Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service at the Memorial United Church on August
17th at 2:00pm. Interment will be conducted privately by his family at his favourite place in the world.
The urnbearer is his youngest son, Robert. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mike Goodyear of
Central Funeral Homes.
