Obituary

Obituary for Ronald James Seddon

It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Ronald James Seddon Sr. announce his peaceful passing on October 17th, 2020 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre. Ron was in his 89th year.

Predeceased by his wife Regina (nee McDonald) and brother Wally. Left to mourn are his three children, Rhonda (Brian) of Ottawa, Nicole (Peter) of Tennessee and his son and namesake Ronnie (Lori) of Ottawa as well as his brother Douglas and the rest of the Seddon family in Ottawa. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren, Ashleigh (Mark), Rachel, Zachary, Matthew, Joshua and Abigail, as well as his great grandchildren Tyler and Rehn. Also left to mourn are his extended family members (McDonald family) and close friends (Roses, Parsons and Penneys) as well as his many other friends and acquaintances.

Ron was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He travelled to Newfoundland to work in 1958 where he met his beloved wife and became a transplanted Newfoundlander. Ron enjoyed a long career at Abitibi Price. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, going to his cabin on Crooked Lake and in his later years going for a drive to see the signs of wildlife. Ron was very witty with a great sense of humour and always had a joke or a funny story to share.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Twin Town Retirement Centre for taking care of Ron for the last two years. Thank you to our Palliative nurse Ruth who was so kind and helpful to the family. Special thanks to Sandra Evans whose knowledge, help and kindness will never be forgotten.

Due to the Covid restrictions in place, the Celebration of Life will take place at a later date when all of the family members can be home to celebrate his long and wonderful life and legacy.

Funeral arrangements were made through Central Funeral Home.

If you would like to make a donation in Ron's memory, the following charities were important to him. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Canadian Heart Foundation, The Lionel Kelland Hospice or a charity of your choice.
