It is with great sadness the family of the late Ross Cadwin Rideout of Robert’s Arm announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 1,2023, at the age of 90 years.
Ross was born at Black Head on Long Island, NL on February 21/1933. He was predeceased by parents Beatrice and James Rideout, sisters Tina Snow and Alma Rideout; brother-in-laws George Dicks and Lloyd Dicks; parents-in-law Elsie and Ralph Grimes; and granddaughter Julia Croucher.
Leaving to mourn with 69 years of loving memories is his wife Evelyn; along with his sons Hedley Rideout ( Suzanne) of Robert’s Arm, Terry Rideout (Michelle) of Grand Bank; daughters Bonnie Anthony (Charles) of Robert’s Arm, Norma Croucher (Burneal) of South Brook, Daphne Rideout (David) of Campbell River, BC; five loving grandchildren Vanessa, Tanya, Timothy, Jesse and Clarke; five great-grandchildren Alicia, Emma, Riley, Carter and Jack; one great-great-grandchild Averie; sisters Edith Dicks and Jean Dicks of LaScie; sister-in-law Joan Morey of Robert’s Arm; brother-in-law Hedley Grimes (Sadie) of Springdale. Plus a large group of nieces, nephews and friends.
Ross leaves behind a legacy to be desired by many. From the age of 15 to the ripe age of 90, he worked within the Forestry Industry and peddled at his sawmill up to a mere three days before his passing.
His entire circle of family and friends can only wish to be as blessed.
In keeping with Ross’s wishes, cremation will take place.
