Obituary for Roy Nicholas Byrne

ROY NICHOLAS BYRNE
1954 - 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roy Byrne. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after fighting a lengthy battle with cancer at age 66.

He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Loretta Byrne, and sister-in-law Allison (Baird) Byrne. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 41 years whom he dearly loved, Debbie, his pride and joy; his children Nick (Kristen) and Ledon (Trevor) and his little fuzzy shadow, his cat Mollie. Also to mourn are his siblings Anne (Jeff), Iris (Sean), Vince (Phyllis), Gerald, Goretti (Ches), Christine (Barry), Clyde, Tony (Judy), Arlene, Sean (Cheryl) and all of his in-laws who he loved like his own family.

You could always catch Roy at an antique car show or on his Harley. He loved old cars as much as he loved being on his motorcycle. The louder his bike or convertible were, the happier he was.

Roy was always the center of every room. He loved telling a joke and had the amazing talent of being able to make anyone smile. His incredible personality gained him a large group of close friends that he thought of as family.

Roy fought so hard, for so long. He was determined to be here for his family as long as possible. He loved life, his family and friends, and they loved him just as much.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.

Visitation will take place Thursday October 8th from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm. All are welcomed.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, his funeral will be held on Friday October 9th by invitation only.

There will be a motorcade leaving from Dorrity Place on Saturday, October 10th at 2pm for all of his friends and family. If you would like to join in with your Harley or old car, feel free.
