Obituary for Ruth (Toots) Gloria Croucher (Fifield)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth (Toots) Croucher announces her peaceful passing at Grand Falls-Windsor on January 17, 2023 at the age of 67.

She was predeceased by her parents John & Mary Fifield and her brother Bruce.

Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories are her husband of 46 years, Bob Croucher; her sisters Idella, Phyllis (Bill), Marjorie, Maxine and Betty (Roger) and her sisters-in-law Helen (Brian ) Henstridge and Beverley (Ronald) Ellis. Ruth also leaves to mourn nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.

Toots (as she was called) worked at Scotia Bank in Fort McMurray for 26 years. She was known to be always cheerful and kind; she loved her dog Sophie and loved shopping! Her and Bob were a close couple; if you saw one, you saw the other. They enjoyed their time together at their home in Florida. Toots was Bob’s right hand and cared for him; but as her health declined Bob cared for her though the entire time and he became her right hand when she needed it most. She loved her family dearly and she will be greatly missed.

Pastor Kerry Northcotte will conduct the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Church in South Brook on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2 pm; with interment to follow at the South Brook Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brian, Bill, Helen, Bev, Jamie and Lemont. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed from the church’s Facebook page.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Michele Janes of Springdale Central Funeral Homes.
