Obituary for Sean Francis Walsh

SEAN FRANCIS WALSH
1952 - 2020

A warm smile, a generous heart, a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all that knew him❤️ Sean came into this world on April 1st, 1952. Born in Grand Falls to Lawrence and Julia Walsh (Lemoine), Sean was the middle of 5 children.

Sean’s forever love, Iris (Byrne); his children, Erin and Diana; and grandchildren, Stella and Cullen; were loved beyond all measure.

Sean achieved many things in his life, he was a lifeguard and softball umpire in his early days and then became an industrial mechanic and was employed with Abitibi Bowater until its closure and his retirement. He was a member of IOOF and Exploits H2N. He devoted countless hours to the Oddfellows and achieved the ultimate honor of Grand Master. He was involved in the third and fourth degree Knights of Columbus and volunteered whenever and wherever a hand was needed.

Everything Sean was involved in was done with humor and hard work and thus was a well-known presence in the community. Many people were the recipients of jokes and tales told by Sean - he left a smile in his path.

Sean is predeceased by his father, Lawrence Walsh; his in-laws, Nicholas Byrne and Loretta Byrne; and in-laws, Alison Baird Byrne, Cyril Pynn and Roy Byrne.

He will be forever missed by his loving family, wife, Iris; daughters, Erin Sommerfield (Cole, Stella, and Cullen) of Edmonton, AB, and Diana of St. Catherine's, ON; mother, Julia; brothers Larry (Francis), Chris (Patty), Rick (Kathy); sister Maureen; In laws Anne, Vince, Gerald, Goretti, Christine, Clyde, Tony, Arlene, Sean; special friend Julie: numerous nephews and nieces; along with a large circle of relatives and friends.
