Obituary for Stephen Eugene Steeves

STEPHEN EUGENE STEEVES
1932 - 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stephen Eugene Steeves announce his passing in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 18, 2018 at the age of 86. Steve was born and raised in Elgin, NB and moved to Grand Falls-Windsor to work first as a chemical engineer and later as superintendent of pulping at the Abitibi paper mill. In his retirement he happily spent time with his beloved family and friends and pursued many interests. An avid gardener, golfer, hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, and overall outdoorsman, his family are grateful that he was able to stay active and enjoy life to the fullest until his recent illness. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 59 years Mildred (nee Brinson); children Tony (Debby), Glenn (Cathy), Darlene (Keith); grandchildren Andrew, Kyle, Bradley, Brandy, Travis, Eric and David; great-grandchildren Chelsea, Darcy, Adrian, and Eli; brother and sister-in-laws; many nieces and nephews and friends. Stephen was predeceased by parents Chesley and Greta Steeves, brothers John, Russell, Albert, Vincent, Lee and Richard; sisters Margarete, Ethel, and Phyllis. Visitation will take place at Central Funeral Home, Union Street, Grand Falls- Windsor on Monday, October 22 ,2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Rev. Robin Trevors will conduct the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church 2 pm on Tuesday, October 23. Donations may be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
