It is with great sadness that the family of the late Vera Shapleigh announce her passing in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on March 28, 2023 at the age of 85. Vera was a member of the Memorial United Church and the United Church Women. She retired from CIBC in Grand Falls-Windsor. Vera is predeceased by her husband, David Shapleigh in 2001. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son, Paul Shapleigh (Bernadine) of Tatamagouche, NS; and grandsons, David Shapleigh (Hannah) of Halifax, NS, Matthew Shapleigh of Gagetown, NB, and James Shapleigh (Caiti) of Truro, NS; daughter, Susan MacNeill (Jeff) of St-Hippolyte, QC; and granddaughters, Michelle Lacour (Dylan) of St. John’s, NL, and Rebecca Lacour (Daniel) of Wemindji, QC. Also leaving to mourn is her brother, Richard Rendell; along with many nieces and nephews. Rev. Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service from Memorial United Church on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery. Urn bearers are Bob Dawe and Glenn Mouland. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Julia Caines of Central Funeral Homes.
