Obituary for Violet Beck (Hollett)
It is with profound sadness the loving family of Violet Beck must announce her passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on February 12, 2023 at the age of 96.
Mrs. Beck was predeceased by husbands Eric Manuel and Reginald Beck, parents Fred and Daisy Hollet, siblings Vera, Fred, John and Arthur, son William and grandsons Peter and Michael. Left to mourn are children Mary Mills (Peter), Gwen Keir (Peter), Lisa Bishop (Everett), Karen Peckford (Dave) and Paul Beck (Eithne), grandchildren Jennifer Mills (Lance), Allan Anstey (SueAnn), Jason Anstey, Jordan Lingard (Amanda), Chris Peckford (Julia), Lyse Beck, Shari Beck, Stephanie Beck, Alison Beck and Aaron Beck, great grandchildren Zach, Josh, Jayssie, Michael, Kohl, Kylah, Ryan, Ian, Erik, Claire, Jessica, Kendall, Georgia, and Kimberley, nephews Terry, Lorne, Dave, Keith, Robert and neices Carol, Elizabeth, Sandra and Frances, along with many other friends and family.
Mrs. Beck will be remembered for her kind nature and generous spirit. Born in Grand Falls-Windsor on March 12, 1926, Mrs. Beck was proud to call Grand Falls-Windsor her home for all 96 of her years. She loved going to the cabin whether it was in Northern Arm, Gull Pond or Sandy Point. She was a voracious reader and kept all the men in the family supplied with "mom socks". Professionally, she worked at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center as a lab technician for over 20 years specializing in cytology. But most of all, Mrs. Beck loved spending time with her family and beloved cat Ripley.
A service will be held in the spring, with funeral arrangements entrusted to Julia Caines at Central Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lionel Kelland Hospice.
