Obituary for Wilfred Francis Fifield
WILFRED FIFIELD
1934 - 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Fifield announce his passing at the Springdale Hospital on February 15, 2021 at the age of 86. Wilfred is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rosie Fifield; sisters, Myrtle, Clara, and Blanche; and brothers, Chesley, Jack, Baxter and Gordon. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Madge; sons, Melvin (Debbie) of South Brook, NL and Dwight (Netta) of South Brook, NL; and daughter, Rhonda Burton (Domino) of Marathon, ON. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren, Alan, Matthew, Tim, Steven, Marsha, and Justin; 7 great-grandchildren, and several step-grand and great-grandchildren. Wilf was born in Triton to Frank and Rosie Fifield. A few years later, they moved to South Brook, where he grew up and married Madge Short and had three children. Wilf was a logger for most of his life until sickness forced him to retire. Wilf loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and going blueberry picking every year with his lifelong buddy Frank Huxter. Wilf loved his family so very much, but his grandchildren were the apple of his eye; wherever he was, so were they. He was not just Pop to them, he was also their best friend. Wilf will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest In Peace Pop.
