Obituary for Yvonne Bernetta Heath (Burton)

It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of their beautiful loved one, Yvonne Bernetta Heath (Burton) at Springdale, NL on March 29, 2023, at the age of 81, surrounded by her family.

Yvonne was born in Shoal Tickle, Beaumont on February 19th, 1942. In 1958 she married Amos Heath and raised their family in Beaumont. In their later years, they moved to the cottages in Springdale where they enjoyed spending time with new friends and old.

Yvonne was known for many things: her beautiful singing, her poetry writing, her needlework and even her corny jokes. Yvonne was an active member of the Beaumont United Church and UCW for most of her life. Her crochet and embroidery work was sought after, as were her snowballs (she has made thousands of them) and no one could play the accordion and cheer on ‘The Santas’ quite like her. Yvonne loved berry picking and couldn’t get enough blueberries or bakeapples. She is best known for her smile, kindness and generosity.

Yvonne was predeceased by her Parents: Moses and Dulcie Burton; Brothers: Ralph, Tom, Wes, Reg, Ford and Sisters: Rita, Flossie, Blanche.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 64 years, Amos Heath; sons Eugene Heath (Audrey) and Roger Heath; daughter Ann Colbourne (Peter); grandchildren Melissa, Crystal, Brandon, Samantha, Amy and Natalie; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Gladys Heath and Joan Vivian (Joe); and a large circle of family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ken Goodyear, Central Funeral Homes. Cremation has already taken place, and as per her wishes, a funeral will not be held.

The Heath family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Green Bay Health Centre in Springdale that showed her such care and compassion during her final days. A special thank you to family and friends that supported Yvonne and her family during her illness with food deliveries, check-in visits, phone calls and so much more. Please know that your kindness will always be remembered.

She leaves a void in our hearts but heaven has a new angel in their choir.
