Welcome

Thank you for visiting us online. Our commitment to serve you better transcends our facility. We invite you to browse our website and please feel comfortable enough to stop and submit a question or comment if you wish.

We strive to make families and visitors feel comfortable while paying respects to their lost loved ones and make considerable effort to maintain our grounds to the highest standards that is expected of a place of tribute.

Service Information

The current funerals entrusted to us are listed here; you can find this information by using the "Current Services" link at the left side of this page. If you are unable to attend a service, you can still be with the family in thought by signing the online guest book, expressing your condolences, or sharing your most memorable recollection about the deceased. You can also place a memorial donation or send a floral tribute.

Audio Services

We are proud to be the only firm in the area to offer audio services. Shortly after the service has ended, we can post an audio recording of the service capturing eulogies, readings, or any other audio portion of the service, and make it available to listen to online.

News

2010-07-14 - How large of a carbon footprint do you wish to leave? This seems to be a question more people are posing to themselves as they become more socially and environmentally aware. We hear it everywhere, to protect the environment, recycle, reuse and so on. Mike and I have asked ourselves the same questions and although we can get overwhelmed by all that we can do, we decided to take it step by step. Our first step was to replace our fleet of vehicles with more economically and gas friendly ones. This has been done quite successfully. Our next step was to find a way to offer our families the same option of going green. It has taken awhile but we are now one of the first funeral homes in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the only one here in Central Newfoundland, to offer our families a totally “Green” option. We can now offer stationary that is 100% recycled, our embalming procedure is a totally environmentally friendly chemical. It has taken our supply company 5 years to develop this product, so that it will still provide all the benefits and not be harsh on the environment, to a casket that is made with no metal, a finish that is made from vegetable oil, to recycle materials for the interior, all while still holding to our high standards of quality and appearance. This casket is manufactured to the standard and is labeled as “Green” So please if you have any questions or would like to further look into this option please call us at 709-489-3880 or email us centralfuneralhome@nf.aibn.com

These pieces are exquisitely made and affordable. They let you keep a little memento of your loved one close to your heart. Some people find this very comforting.
