The Younger Years

Living only a hop, a skip, and a jump from Uncle Jim's and Aunt Mary's, I can honestly say that this was my second home when growing up. Whether we were outside playing Hide & Seek, or inside dressing up for Pageants, there was never a dull moment at 7 Sutherland Drive. One thing that sticks out in my mind was the head stands we were doing in the kitchen one day and Uncle Jim joined in with us. Needless to say he lost his balance and his bum went right through the wall. His immmediate comment was "Lord frig, Mary is going to kill me". The place went up into laughter and Aunt Mary was shocked when she came into the room to see the big hole in the wall, but laughed just as much as we did. Uncle Jim was a comical soul who was so much fun to be around. He treated all of us like his own and today I bet he's entertaining all that is in heaven and causing an uproar of laughter. I will miss you Uncle Jim and I look forward to your company when we meet again. Love your niece, Elaine
