ANDREW THOMAS HARVEY
1965 - 2018
Andrew Harvey passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2018 following a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer. While Andrew's life was all too brief in years, it was full in love and laughter. He lived, loved and was loved. In the face of his illness and the knowledge of the fate that awaited him, he made the most of what time he had. He was predeceased by his mother, Lois Anne (McCarron) Harvey. He was a devoted and loyal son to Neil and Lois, brother to Carolyn (Ken Dicks) and Susan (Bill Roberts), uncle to Michael, Matthew, James and Bethany, brother-in-law to Ken and Bill, stepfather to Lucas, Gracee, and Ryan, true love to Heather and cherished friend to us all. He will be remembered with great affection and warm smiles by all who knew him.
As we look back on his life we recall with fondness his encyclopedic knowledge of "things" and his even greater desire and joy in sharing that knowledge with others. Even when the recipient of the wisdom did not always share his passion, we listened with a humoring smile and now we long for one more treatise on the inner workings of some technical device, how to properly wax a snow machine or why this particular gadget is a "must have". Information we probably didn't need but what we have come to appreciate is the time spent was the true gift. It was never clear how he garnered this knowledge but its accuracy was never questioned nor was his sincerity in sharing.
Andrew will be remembered by his patients as one who was empathetic to their needs and genuine in his desire to help. He gave willingly and endlessly of his time to his patients to assure their comfort. He had a generosity of spirit and purity of heart that knew no bounds and was evident to all he touched with kindness.
