Obituary for Sandy Kenneth Young

Sandy Kenneth Young
Sandy Kenneth Young
February 15, 1926-April 21, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sandy Kenneth Young announce his passing at Springdale hospital on April 21, 2015 at the age of 89. Sandy was born in Wild Bight to the late Robert and Ivy Young. He spent much of his life on the water as a fisherman, sealer and also assisting his father with the running of the passenger boat. During WW II he served as a Merchant Marine on the waters in the local area. His pleasure in life was salvaged from his love for the “land” and the “sea”. His passion was demonstrated by his skill as a hunter and fisherman. In later years, he assisted with the operation of the family business at “Young’s Variety”. He spent his life in Beachside and left lasting memories for his family and many friends.

Predeceased by his parents Ivy and Robert Young; siblings, Baxter, Graham, Pierce; infant sister, Marion; and son-in-law, Verden Locke. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Doreen; sons, Roger(Mary) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Sterling (Glenda) of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters, Ada of Beachside, Sandra(Shawn) of Middle Arm. Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren, Lyndon (Sylvia) Cold Lake AB, Leroy (Gina) Grand Prairie AB, Sara, Alexander and Adrienne; Great grandchildren, Christopher and Riley; Step grandchildren, Sophie and Carl; brothers, Cecil (Juanita), Cameron (Golda); sisters, Doris Bowers (Leslie), Hope Cole (Leslie), Marie Bennett, Queen Bennett, and Phyllis (Glen) Carlson.
