1939-2015
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herbert Sweeney announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, on September 16, 2015, at the age of 76. He is predeceased by brothers Ron, Frank and Joe Sweeney; sisters Shirley Islam and Mary Rockwood. Herbert leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Matilda, his sons Trevor (Katrina) of St. John’s, NL., Craig (Marjorie) of Botwood, NL., and Herbert Jr. (Jessy) of Coquitlam, BC., and daughter Sharlene Stroud (Late Leonard Stroud) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren - Matthew, Rebecca, Deidra, Patrick, and Samantha. Great grandchildren Colette and Ethan. Sisters Lucy Barry, Patricia Caravan, Joan Mulrooney; brothers Leo, Bernard and John. Father William Hearn will be conducting the funeral service at the Immaculate Conception on Sept 19, 2015. Interment will be at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Trevor Sweeney, Bill Tremblett, Ed Tremblett, Matthew Sweeney, Dennis Byrne, Joe Tremblett. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
