The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Stone can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Wonderful Week in Roberts Arm

My husband Carl and I spent a lovely week with Walter and Delphine in the summer of 2015. The two of them were the best people we could ever count as friends. Walt shared so much of himself and as he told numerous stories of growing up in Newfoundland, he often bemoaned the fact that the tellers of those stories were no longer around.

I urged him to be the one to record them so others could hear of the adventures he had. What a life he lived, and I marvel at all the lives he touched. My heart aches that his voice, his kindness, and his life are no longer part of the fabric of this earth.

But that summer will live in my memory, and Walt holds a warm place in my heart for as long as I live.

Delphine is one of the most beautiful people I have met, and I am filled with sorrow for her now that Walt is no longer by her side. I wish I could ease the burden for her.
