ERIC D. PENNEY
1943 – 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Penney announce his passing at his home in Springdale on June 24, 2016 at the age of 73. Eric was a member of the Salvation Army Church and the Salvation Army Men’s Fellowship. He retired from Coke Cola as a distributor/salesman and Building Superintendent in Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, Warrick & Dulcie Penney and parents-in-law, Edward & Nellie Green. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Wavey Penney of Springdale; his son Corey (daughter-in-love Ruby) of Burgeo; and special girl Kate Welshman of Springdale. Also leaving to mourn are his brothers and sisters-Donna (Harvey), Aubrey (Jean), Cornelia, Selma (Graham), Archie (Lydia), Vida, Cluney (Joan) and Rhona. Majors Collin & Jacqueline Abbott will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Springdale on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Springdale. Pallbearers are Aubrey Penney (Brother), Archie Penney (Brother), Kurt Green (Nephew), Ray King (Good Friend), Don Saunders (Good Friend), Wilfred Burton (Good Friend and Corey’s father-in-law). Honorary pallbearer will be his son Corey Penney. In lieu of flowers donations in Eric's memory may be made to the Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
