Obituary for Mary Agnes Power (Hynes)

Mary Agnes Power (Hynes)
Mary Power
May 14, 1941 – September 16, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Agnes Power announce her passing after a brief illness at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, on September 16, 2017, at the age of 76. Mary worked for many years with her husband Joe, running the family business, and doing what she loved best, raising her 5 boys. Mary was best known for her ability to cook a fine scoff on short notice for whoever showed up , and fed many people over the years. She loved to laugh, and had a wonderful, witty sense of humor. She especially loved her weekends in Fortune Harbour, reading, relaxing and listening to music alongside her best friend and husband of 55 years, Joe. Mary is predeceased by her parents Louis and Helen Hynes; brothers Leo Hynes, Angelo Hynes, Michael Hynes, Bill Hynes and Louis Hynes; sisters Liz Hynes and Helen Hynes; and her granddaughter Laura Power. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Joe; sons Joe Jr. (Sus) of Bishop's Falls, Pierce of St. Phillips, Lewis of Bishop's Falls, Tom (Angela) of Bishop's Falls, Fabian (Susan) of Bishop's Falls; brothers Tom (Jane) Hynes, Alonzo (Ethel) Hynes and Kevin (Jackie) Hynes. Also leaving to mourn are her precious grandchildren Nicole, Joey, Jordan, Lewis, Lukie, Lucas, Rachel and Sam; great grandchildren Jade, Chloe, Ben, Max and Will. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Father Eugene Morris will conduct the funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, in Bishop's Falls on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.. Pallbearers are sons, Joe Jr. Power, Pierce Power, Tom Power, and Fabian Power, grandsons Joey Power, Jordan Power, Lucas Power and Sam Power. The Power Family wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of care, love and concern during this difficult time. Thank you and God Bless.
