Obituary for Glenn Oscar Carlson

Glenn Oscar Carlson
Glenn Carlson was born on January 26, 1933 in Preeceville, SK to Oscar and Jennie Carlson. He spent his early life on a prairie farm but at age eighteen he went to work in Winnipeg. On April 1, 1967, Glenn came to Newfoundland to work as a supervisor with Mannix Construction where he made many life-long friends. On June 14, 1975 he married Phyllis Young. His career took him to Churchill Falls, Quebec, and Fort MacMurray. During those years many lasting relationships demonstrated how highly respected and loved this “gentle giant” was. Loved by everyone, Glenn always showed his mild and kind personality, whatever the circumstances. Since moving down to Springdale he was sorely missed by his South Brook “coffee buddies,” especially Pastor Harnum and Cec Huxter. It is safe to say that Glenn will be missed by many, many of his friends.
