Silas (Si) Barrow
1924 - 2017


It is with great sadness that the family of the late Silas (Si) Barrow announce his passing at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on May 1, 2017 at the age of 92. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Northcliffe #1086; Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12, founding member and life member of the Kinsman Club of Grand Falls-Windsor, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Local 63 and he was retired from Abitibi Price. Si is predeceased by his wife Bride and son Russell. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons; Ron (Carol) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Butch (Valerie) of Mount Pearl, daughters; Sandra (Gordon) of Carbonear and Vicky (Brian) of Canmore, Alberta. Also leaving to mourn is his sister Louise Byrne, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; good friend Mike O’Reilly, as well as many nieces and nephews along with many loyal friends and customers. Rev. Kim Waite will conduct the funeral service at the Memorial United Church on May 5th, 2017, assisted by Guest Clergy Rev. Wilson Gonese. Interment will be at the Interfaith Cemetery. Pallbearers are Geoffrey Barrow, Jonathan Barrow, Neal Saunders, Jennifer Dawe, Butch Pinsent, and Joe McDonald. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes. Flowers gratefully received or donations may be made to the Memorial United Church. Reception to follow at Masonic Lodge, 25 Memorial Avenue Grand Falls-Windsor.
