DONALD AUGUSTUS WATKINS
1926 – 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donald Watkins announce his passing at the Valley Vista Seniors Home in Springdale on December 2, 2017 at the age of 91. Donald was a member of the Centennial United Church. He retired from Bowaters Woods Dept. Donald was predeceased by his parents Fred & Ethel Watkins; brothers-Willis, Ralph, Eric, Harvey; sisters-Ivy Grose, Winnie Chippett; granddaughter Mandy Watkins; daughter-in-law Nancy Watkins; nephews-Max Watkins and Orvin Chippett; and nieces-Lillian Watkins, Nancy Hopkins and Jean Pretty. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Irene; sons-Freeman (Janet) of Robert’s Arm and Mervin (Helen) of Triton; daughter Kathleen (Brian) of Edmonton, AB. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren-Roxanne Roberts (Danny), Robby Watkins (Loretta), Heather Watkins (Chris Brown), Mindy Watkins (Harry Burry), Jason Shank; great grandchildren-Brady, Cameron, Bailey, Anthony, Adrian and Ella; nephews-Rev. Gordon Grose, Gordon Watkins, Robert Watkins; nieces-Violet Chappell and June Putz. Barbara Noble will conduct the funeral service from the Centennial United Church in Robert’s Arm on Wednesday, December 6 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Freeman (son), Mervin (son), Robby (grandson), Gordon Giles (brother-in-law), Ivan Wiseman (friend) and Roy Ryan (friend). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ken Goodyear and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
