Obituary for Viola R. Healey (King)

Viola R. Healey (King)
Viola Arita Healey
(90)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving mother, Viola Healey (Saunders) nee King at 90 yrs of age.
Viola passed on to her heavenly home on January 28th @ Valley Vista Seniors Home, Springdale, NL ,surrounded by family.
Viola was born to Dinah and Douglas King at King’s Cove in 1927. She moved to Springdale, met & married Adam Saunders and settled into raising their 12 children. In the early years, Viola loved to sew and knit, especially to keep her children clothed. She worked as a house keeper in Springdale and at QE11 in Halifax and always took great pride in her work. An avid berry picker, she spent many hrs picking, jamming & preserving them. She loved to go fishing & brag about how many were caught, none were too small to keep. In later years, she could be found sitting at her table doing puzzles, or relaxing with her puzzle book (as she called it). She loved company, weather it was family, friends or strangers, they were always welcome at her table for a cup of tea and very few got out the door without one. Especially her children and grandchildren.
She was loved by all who knew her and she was very proud to be called mom, grandmother, sister, friend, Aunt Vi and for many others (mudder).
She is predeceased by: late Husband Adam Saunders; sons Alonzo and Terry; daughter Gloria Jacobs; grandson Christopher Wells; son-in-law Gordon Jacobs; daughter-in-law Debbie Saunders; sister Mabel England; brothers Alonzo, James, Cyril & Jutson.
Leaving to mourn are: Husband James Healey; daughters Jeanette Kidd (Jim), Golda Jacobs, Alice Janes (Fred), Vera Colbourne (Ray), Christina Rice (Gary); sons Colin (Kim), Corbin (Muriel), Collen (Hilda), Darrel (Daphne), Randy (Jennifer), Robert (Fanny); son-in-law Ross Jacobs; family friend Ford Adams; 35 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren; sister Joyce England; a large number of nieces, nephews, extended family and many very dear friends.
You will be in our hearts forever mom, no more pain or suffering!

Go rest high on the mountain! Your work on earth is done!
