RAYMOND GEORGE WHALEN
1939 – 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond G. Whalen announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center in Grand Falls-Windsor on March 11, 2018 at the age of 78. Raymond was a member of the Salvation Army Church. He retired from logging. Raymond was predeceased by his first wife Jeanette; son Kevin; his parents, Eli & Maude Whalen and his brothers-William Fifield, Gerald Whalen, Nelson Whalen and Otto Whalen. Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Greta; sons-Dennis (Christine) of Grand Falls-Windsor, Leonard (Joni) of Pilley’s Island, Edward (Heather) of Pilley’s Island, Reginald (Kelly) of Triton; daughters-Joyce (Ramsey) of St. Lewis, Labrador and Elizabeth (Calvin) of Goose Bay, Labrador. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren-Troy Curl, Felicia Whalen, Francesca Strickland, Brandon Rumbolt, Darian Whalen, Thea Rumbolt; sister Viola Simms and brothers-Edward Whalen, Frank Whalen and Floyd Whalen. Majors Arley and Darlene Masters will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel in Pilley’s Island on Wednesday, March 14 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Pallbearers are Leonard Whalen (son), Ramsey Curl (son-in-law), Calvin Rumbolt (son-in-law), Brandon Rumbolt (grandson), Jamie Fifield (nephew) and Paul Fifield (nephew).Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment and Marilyn Stuckless of Central Funeral Homes.
