It is with great sadness that the family of the late Catherine Theresa Flynn announce her passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing on August 15, 2006 at the age of 83 years old. Catherine reported the news for the Advertiser, and a member of K of C Auxiliary Women, CWL, Girl Guides, Liberal Association and Northcliffe Drama Club. She is predeceased by Husband Timothy, son Matthew, parents Matthew and Mary Lannon. Left with fond and loving memories are sons Joseph Flynn (Myrtle) of Labrador City, NL, James Flynn of Buchans, NL, and Timothy Flynn (YuKari) of Toronto, ON; daughters Frances (William Wiseman) of St. John’s, NL, Mary of Trenton, ON, Carmel (Gord Hutchings) of Trenton, ON, Elizabeth (Edward Greene) of Kippens, NL, Eileen of Stephenville, NL, and Ellen of Oakville, ON. Also leaving to mourn her sister Frances Lane of Ontario, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Father David Joy conducted the funeral service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on August 18, 2006. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Union Street. Pallbearers are Jimmy Flynn, Matt Carey, Pierce Carey, Joe Power, Pierce Power, and Matt Lannon. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mike and Sheila Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
