Passed peacefully away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Center in Botwood, Ruby Joyce Cooper at the age of 97 years. Ruby was surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born in Twillingate, NL on July 4, 1918. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Hayward; parents, Bertram and Caroline (Reid) Young and brother, Raymond (Doris) Young of Twillingate, brothers and sisters-in-law George and Madeline Cooper, Dorothy and Bramwell Sheppard, Mark Cooper, and Major Evelyn Cooper.

Ruby leaves to mourn her sons, Dennis (Brenda Wall) and Sean (Linda Wyatt) and grandchildren Jeff (Mandy), his daughter Sara; Wendy (Perry) Grimes,their children Cooper, Mallory and James; Denise (Robert) Carey, their children Jessica and Colin; Chris and his daughter, Averie; Matthew (Elizabeth), their children Maxwell, Alexander and Emily; step-grandson Andrew (Beverley) Thomas, their children Rebecca and Ryan; step-granddaughter Sarah (Marc) Gregoire, their children Kassidy, Danielle, Paige and Nathan; step-great-great-granddaughter Abbie; Louise Cooper; Gladys and Robert Goulds; Major James Cooper and Marjorie and Gary McNaughton.

Up to 1948 Ruby was employed with Manuels Store in Twillingate, in 1948-50 she was employed with Riffs, and in 1958-82 she managed office for her and Hayward's Oil Business. Ruby was a life member of the U.C.W., sang in The United Church Choir all her life, was a member of Esperance Rebekah Lodge #64, past Worshipful Mistress LOBA, Volunteer with Red Cross and Carmelite House.

Ruby will be missed by a very large circle of loving family members and friends from Twillingate and Grand Falls-Windsor.

Funeral Service for Ruby will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Memorial United Church, Interment at the Interfaith Cemetery will follow. Pallbearers are members of The Odd Fellows Lodge; Sean Walsh, Walwin Blackmore, Ray Budgell, Bill Reid, John Locke, Iris Walsh. Honorary Pallbearer George Piercey.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
