Condolence From: To The Moores Family with Love, Caring, and Sympathy
Condolence: Nothing we can say at this time will be new to you, but we will add our voices to many, many others who have been saddened by the passing of a dear father, grandfather, the various relative-connectors, and friends.
Our favourite recollection of Bob over the past few years was his Fall Visit to our home bringing homegrown apples to Danny - how very thoughtful. Then, there was his "keen eye" spotting out the lion, in the hills by the remnants of the old mine, which he proudly showed us. Going back almost four decades, Bob is remembered as a pipe-fitter in the original song, "Ders A Loader O'erboard" [please see below]; he was also an excellent mechanic, owned his own garage on the site of the present day "Causeway Express"; fixed our vehicles a few times! A genuine outport Newfoundlander, may he Rest In Peace.
In closing, ponder the good times you shared as a FAMILY, the smiles and sometimes the tears; they will be loving, lasting memories that your hearts will treasure forever. We offer our sincerest condolences.

"Ders A Loader O'erboard"
by Dennis Gill 1981.09.11

Twas the tenth day of September in the year of '81,
In the town of Pilley's Island the work was gettin' done
On the third phase of the water from the Route down to the Bight,
All the men were workin' hard from early morn till night.

Hewlett's foreman, Gerald Anthony, had some good men on the job:
Drillin', he had Melvin Boyd; pipe-fittin', he had Bob;
Seaward was a haulin' fill from in past the Old Mine,
And drivin' the pay-loader was our good friend, Johnny Ryan.

I had come home from school, me and Danny had a sing,
We were sittin' in fer supper when the phone began to ring,
Me brother-in-law, Jerry, out the story poured,
Sayin', "Come on down below The Square - Ders a loader o'erboard!"

Ders a loader o'erboard at the foot of Taylor's Hill,
"Heave out a line to Johnny Ryan," said Charlie Ross to Bill,
John's tryin' for a miracle, like back in Galilee,
But I think he found out that the water wouldn't work fer he!

From Robert's Arm to Brighton, people gathered all around,
The loader in the harbour was the "talk of the town",
Everybody was amazed how she clung on to the rocks,
And the only thing John had to change was his boots and socks!

Condolence: To: Ina and the children and their families of the late Bob Moores.
I remember few years ago while you (Bob Moores) were biding in Whitby and I was at 8 Wing Trenton, you gave me a smoked herring for Christmas. I really did enjoy that gift from you. I had to tease everyone at work with the gift. I took and early lunch and warmed my smoked herring in the lunchroom micro wave. Everyone enjoyed the aroma so much that all of the doors were opened so that the unique fragrance could be shared to the whole community. You like that when I told you about the when and where I ate the gift from you.
Bob you lived a full life. You managed to work a bit on the mainland. But, you did not forget where you came from. Glad that you were able to enjoy a long and well lived retirement back to the land of your roots.
Til we meet again thanks for the wisdom imparted to me and laughter that we did share.
To Bob family and all in attendance., cherish the times that you spent his Bob's presence. We all know that being present with Bob was always exciting and memorable.
Rest in peace Bob.
May you all live a long, happy and prosperous life

Condolence: Dearest Ina, Vivian and family. We are so heart broken to hear of Bob’s passing. We’re so sorry we are not able to be with you all today. Bob was such an amazing man, kind hearted, soft spoken and funny just to name a couple things that stand out with the many memories I have. We’ll forever have so many fond memories of many holidays spent with your family and fishing trips ( with cheese balls for bait ) with Bob and Ina.
Sending all our love during this time.

It was definitely sad to learn of Bob's passing. The family chain has been broken, once again. He is now free from all the suffering he has been going through which brings a little bit of peace to the family. Praying that the peace of God will cover you all as you lay your loved one to rest. You will all continue to be uplifted in prayer.

God bless,
Doreen & Garry
