Hayward “Merc” Malcolm Mercer
1928 - 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hayward (Merc) Mercer announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood, on April 29th, 2011 at the age of 82. Besides a deep love for his grandchildren he also had a great love for the outdoors. Hayward retired from Abitibi as a truck driver. Hayward is predeceased by his parents Roland & Vickie Mercer and adoptive parents Adolphus & Blanche Mercer. Left with fond and loving memories are wife, Catherine (Kit) Mercer, daughters Karen (Byron) White of Badger, Dianne (Gerard) Strickland of Edmonton, AB, and Michelle (Robert) Jones of Badger. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren Ryan, Erica, Kara, Nichole, Robyn and Carla. One great-granddaughter, Sawyer, and adoptive brother and sister, Roy Mercer and Vivian Earle. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Central Funeral Home Chapel at 45 Union Street with Fr. Wilfred Calinawan officiating. Interment will follow at the Badger Interfaith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
