Condolences

Condolence From: Bob Aitken
Condolence: Dear Sharon & Family,
So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I regret getting the news too late to attend the funeral but feel that it was somewhat appropriate to hear about it at St. James' Church this morning. Your parents (and you) were solid members there, particularly your Dad as a Lay Reader.
I have no doubt in my mind that Stella and Tom Blackmore were at the top of the list of "most positive influences" in my life. Mrs. Blackmore was my teacher for the seventh grade, and J.T. my teacher for three years of High School (all subjects!). They were both superb teachers who had the deepest respect of their students. I came to regard them as my friends in later years, but never did lose that degree of respect I had as a student.
Thank you for the obituary photo, Sharon. It's exactly as I remember your mother when I was in Grade Seven.

With loving memories,

Bob

Condolence: Sharon,
We were saddened to read of your mother's passing and want to extend condolences to you and your family. We remember your mother as she looked on the beautiful photo and seeing it brought back many wonderful memories of our teaching days in Grand Falls when we often shared at meal at your home. I remember once when she served for dessert a sponge cake that my mother used to make. I have never had it anywhere else and it gave me a really warm feeling of being at home. Three years ago I was visiting my father in GF hospital and I read in the Advertiser that there was a 90th. birthday party for Mrs. Sutton so I attended and luckily your mother was there. It was wonderful to see her after all these years. She still had that beautiful smile and gentle look. Your mother was a very kind and gracious lady who had a special place in her heart for the students she taught and she was loved by all who knew her. We know your loss is a great one. Death is never easy regardless of age and circumstnce, but be assured that those of us who were touched by her kindness will hold onto the memory. Be assured of our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Condolence: Sharon and family.....I am sorry to learn of your mother's recent passing. I have many fond memories of her and your father as well and I can't help but think that together they both were important and good role models for a lot of us "kids" during our formative years. Take comfort in knowing that she lived a good, long and meaningful life , and that her suffering is now over. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Regards and best wishes

Condolence: Dear Sharron - Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. I have very fond memories of her teaching days in Botwood; she was a beautiful lady, alwys so pleasant and kind. Her and your dad, who was my teacher for grades 9, 10, and 11, always went beyond the call of duty in teaching us, and were a positive influence in my life. - Janet (Young) Evans

Condolence: Sharon & Family,

My thoughts are with you at this time and at the same time drifting over the years that I enjoyed my friendship with Stella...oh so many years and good memories. I enjoyed my letters and calls so much and was always eager to hear her news.

I will miss my Dear Friend, Stella; but I am relieved that her period of
suffering and discomfort are no more. May God grant her rest.

God Bless you all as you deal with the week ahead.

Sincerely,
Neice Brenda/ For Frances Pretty

Condolence: Sharon, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a wonderful person. I got to talk to her and play catch up when she and Mom were in the same hospital room, in November. Take comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with your Dad.
