Many years ago, in the early 50s, Helene & her Mom & Rhoda Browne Morris, visited her Family in Bar Haven-Placentia Bay. The latter was born & raised, on this Island.
The day they left to return home, was beautiful & sunny, along with a High Tide. Meanwhile, my Grandfather (Douglas-Rhoda's Brother) went to Wadman's Store & bought a pen for Helene. Could have been, a souvenir of her visit. I can still see him, giving this gift to his niece.
I have kept in touch with Helene over the years. Always looked forward, to visiting her & Bob on our trips to Central.
Those visits & phone conversations will be greatly missed.
May they both-Rest In Peace.
