It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ruth Farnham Scott announce her passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on April 30, 2015 at the age of 90. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, District Commander of the Ladies Auxiliary, and Secretary of the Royal Canadian Legion. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Ernest; brother, John Hicks; grandson, Paul Scott; and sister, Phyllis Murphy.
Left with fond and loving memories are sons, Robin (Ida) of Lunenburg, NS, Douglas (Darlene) of St. John’s, NL and daughters, Catherine of St. John’s, NL and Elizabeth (David) of Grand Falls-Windsor.
Also leaving to mourn are siblings, Mary Hicks, George Hicks (Amy), and Elizabeth Walters; sister-in-law, Lois Hicks; grandsons, Scott Thompson (Erica), Peter Scott (Ginny), Richard Price, Stewart Scott, great-grand daughter, Sidney; and a large circle of family and friends.
Dr. Reverend Ian Wishart will conduct the funeral service at Central Funeral Homes Chapel, Grand Falls-Windsor on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Pallbearers are Gerry O'Brien, George O'Brien, Robert Freake, Cody Freake, Mike O'Brien, and Tom O'Brien.
