I was a junior st mike's hockey player in grade eight when Ron was a senior member of the St. Mike's team,captain if I recall.l was called up,for the Jones Shield series which we won. I was used for penalty kills and he was on defense. At four ft nothing we made a comical couple on ice as I recall Ron was over six ft. I remember he always made me feel a part of that team and its victory I went on to win four more and like Ron eventually was captain following in a tradition of people who admired men like Ron who was at that time a young boy soon to to be a man who would continue to contribute to Grand Falls and surrounds.
