GEORGE CECIL “SHOE” MERCER
1949 - 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Cecil “Shoe” Mercer announce his passing at his home in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on February 5, 2020 at the age of 70. George retired from Newfoundland Power. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Lena. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Karen, children, Leah (Mike) and Susan (Craig), and stepchildren, Stephen (Jennifer) and Terri-Lynn (Steve). Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren, Olivia, Gabe, Patrick, Jack, and Caroline, and siblings, Bob (Dolly), Barb, Louise (Ches), Rog (Marilyn), Don (Barbara), and Derek (Maureen), as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
